Fancy learning something new?  Join us for our summer/autumn workshops which are designed to gently introduce you to such creative skills as book-binding, needle felting and doodling.  Located in one of the most beautiful venues with open views of the Ceou Valley, you'll have a great day and leave with your own unique creation.

29th July - Bookbinding

You'll learn how to make your own waxed papers, design a cover using lace and ribbons and I'll teach you how to give any button a copper effect to give your cover a flourish.  Finally, you'll create 4 signatures which will be sewn into your journal using pamphlet stitch.

26th August - Needle Felted Bear

These are unbearably cute (sorry!)  Usually people start by make this cute bear for themselves, then make them as gifts for friends because once you know how, you can't resist making more.  I make little families of them and dress them in different scarves, hats etc.  They are a great introduction to this gentle art and they can be made in different colour ways to reflect the season.  (Bear in a bikini?  Might be my next project)

30th September - Doodling For Beginners

This has been one of the most popular classes over the past 2 years.  If you think you can't draw, this is for you.  I share a simple approach to drawing leaves, flowers, little houses, mushrooms and bouquets.  Once you learn my technique you can apply it to anything.  Come along and surprise yourself :)

28th October - Winter Journaling

In this workshop we use a range of de-bossing and embossing techniques to make a heavily textured A5 single signature journal.  As we fill the journal with tags, envelopes and tuck spots, I'll talk you through the benefits of using a journal during the colder months and offer a range of ideas to get you started with journaling.  I'll also share my own journals and where I find  inspiration.

18th November - Needle Felted Christmas Tree

Make something unique to celebrate the season!  These gorgeous little trees are great fun and fairly quick to make up once you've learned the basics.  We'll add beads and sequins to give them a little extra sparkle and get ourselves into the spirit of Christmas.

To book, simply e-mail Debs at hello@atticlane.com and reserve your place.  The price of €75 includes all materials, tea, coffee and lunch.  (Cash only please as we don't have one of those whizzy card payment machines.)  Workshops are held at the lovely old converted tobacco barn in St Cybranet right behind the Mairie's office.   Approx 20 mins by car from Sarlat and 1hr east of Bergerac.

You don't need any previous experience to join in any of the workshops, you'll have a warm welcome and a great day of creativity.
